In 2017, Sharp proudly supported our employees in raising over $46,000 in charitable donations for eight different community organisations.
At Sharp, we believe in building strong, rewarding relationships with the communities we work in and serve, by getting involved with local fundraising projects and organizations.
We support many local and national charities that we believe in, directly through financial donations as well as by supporting our employees as they give their time and skills. At each of our facilities, we encourage our teams to come up with creative new ways of contributing and working with their community.
March of Dimes: Sharp US marches for premature babies
Sharp has been a long-time supporter of the March of the Dimes Foundation. The Foundation focuses on research that addresses problems such as premature births and polio in children. Walks began in 1970 and have raised $2.3 billion to benefit all babies.
2017 marked the 11th year that Sharp has participated in the March of Dimes walk. Terry Kloiber, a member of the US Procurement department, has been heading up this drive for the last nine years and was excited to have five additional associates helping with donation collection.
Donations were also made to support the “Blue Jeans for Babies” initiative throughout March and April, where Sharp employees donated to wear blue jeans on Fridays. Sharp has raised over $10,000 for March for Dimes so far in 2017.
