Sweitse has been working at Sharp Heerenveen since 2020 as a Warehouse employee. He coordinates the entry and exit of the products on a daily basis.
“Every day we look at how many orders need to be sent. We plan who will do what and always try to get the orders out the door as quickly as possible. We are concerned with booking the goods, preparing the orders for production, and sending the orders that are ready.”
And Sweitse does that every day with great pleasure: “I like order and tidiness, when you work with medicines that is a requirement. In addition, I have a lot of variances in my work, no two days are the same. Every day you come across new challenges, so I keep learning and developing myself.”
The atmosphere within the company also ensures that Sweitse enjoys going to work every day. “We have a small group in the department, which means we have good contact with each other, but the lines are also short with the rest of the company. Sharp Heerenveen is a relatively small company, which means that the atmosphere is very social.”
In addition to his work as a warehouse employee, Sweitse also regularly supervises interns. “It’s nice to be able to teach young people something and see how they grow in it. I think it is important that people feel that they are welcome and that they are having a good time. We pay a lot of attention to guidance. I take the time for them and am always there for them. I would rather they ask a question 10 times than make a mistake once.”
What an internship at Sharp looks like? “Sharp Heerenveen is a good company where you can learn a lot, especially in the field of logistics. The logistics are very extensive and at many logistics companies you only learn about the incoming and outgoing flow. With us you also learn how to process things administratively and how to work according to certain procedures. After all, you work with life-saving resources, so that requires a careful work attitude. So with us you have a challenging internship where you can gain broad knowledge!”
